Meet a Dot Robot

Tags: , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , , ,

Say hello to Punk, one of the robots from my new book Dot Robot. If you’re a new visitor you can find more videos and chat about the book in the Dot Robot category of this blog. To order it, ask your local book shop or try Puffin or Amazon.

Big thanks to the amazing Mike Strick, my friend and the very talented model maker who slaved over Punk for six weeks! See how he made him on his blog. And check out my mate Jono, who did the music.

This video is also available in HD on YouTube or Vimeo.

I thought this was a kids book?!

*Hides*

In all seriousness though, it does look incredibly menacing, and kudos to your model maestro on the aesthetics.

That is awesome Jason. I’m going to see if I can get a copy of your book over here in NZ, if not I will have to get the parents to bring a copy over on their next visit.

Jason we at Digital Birmingham think you’re making great strides in bringing digital technologies to the forefront of people’s mind and think you would be perfect to launch Birmingham’s Digital School programme and their activities for Internet Safety Day with the City’s Deputy Leader on 5th February - let us know how we can contact you to pursue this.

Gang,

Check Vincent’s site http://mrripleysenchantedbooks.blogspot.com/ It’s what really good blogging is all about, punchy, passionate, honest journalism. I genuinely love Vincent’s site and it’s not just because he digged reading Dot Robot so much… honest… no really… okay, I’ll shut up then :-\

I didn’t realise there was a gadget show episode on friday! How exciting!

PS. Jason, how are you finding left 4 dead? I enjoyed it to begin with but even with the AI director I found it begins to get a bit samey towards the end. It’s much more enjoyable played with a friend as well imo.

Man that is immense! You could totally see something like Punk popping up in sci-fi films. I have no idea what the book is about, i just found the blog after remembering you were on assassin’s creed which I still havent been able to find…but yeah, this perks up my interest already. :D
